From Wedding to Wedding........

So yeah, as promised, photos from my friend's wedding rites I attended yesterday. It seems only yesterday that we both graduated from Bartley Secondary. And now he's married....

It was held at a mosque in Bishan....can't quite recall the name right now. Anyway, picture time.....

The gifts from both the groom and bride's families.

The cordial banter between two elderly representatives of both families, before the exchange of gifts.

The *kadi checking the ICs of the groom, bride and respective witnesses.

kadi: Usually a clergyman of the faith who facilitates the marriage

The whole process of marriage proclamation by the groom and signing of respective documents.

Pose while you respect your elders.... heh

Donning of the wedding ring - Too bad I couldn't get into a prime position to take it.

Gift giving, ain't that nice....

The groom, Rozhan and the bride Fadlun - Would have taken more pics but there were just too many papparazzis jostling for positions.

Turkish food ... yummy.....

The official cameraman & videoman for the groom's side. Videoman is my former schoolmate too. Go figure.

I guess some people just can't wait to get out of posing.....heh

Last picture of the day for me - Ian & Fadlun with Rozhan & Nizam.

There's still the wedding ceremonies this coming Sunday..... plan on getting more pictures then too. I hope that Rozhan and Fadlun would have a fruitful future together.

Till next time.... have a nice life..

A Myriad of Things

I can't really take credit for this as this was from a forwarded email I received. But its still funny as hell.

In case the words are too small, it says in English - Let Shanghai bank manage your finances. Bring PUKI home. That's just so wrong on so many levels....

For the non-Singaporeans that read my blog, Puki is a vulgar term used by Malays and Ah Bengs (Chinese rednecks - yeah such things exist unfortunately).

Anyway, after attending Don & Serene's wedding last Saturday, Miona, Harold and yours truly headed down to the PC Fair at the Suntec Convention Center. Conditions were worse than the last PC Fair I attended, which was around 5 years ago. There were tonnes of people and what made it worse was the feel of the whole thing. What with the Ah Bengs using loudspeakers and mics to attract customers, it felt more like a *pasar malam than a convention. With that said, I'll probably attend the next PC Fair at the end of the year, since unlike the pasar malams nowadays, prices of products at these conventions are relatively cheaper than at normal IT haunts.

*pasar malam: bazaar/ flea market held at night, usually involves products that are sold at a cheaper price

Anyway I badly needed a DVD R/RW drive because (and I am ashamed to say this) the orignal Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars game I bought was a DVD. And yeah, I only had a CD drive.

Miona if you are reading this, thanks so much.

So now I've played the game. Its kickass to say the least. Problem is now that I'm stuck at a point in the GDI campaign. Namely Act V - Ground Zero. If anyone of you out there know how to get me out of this mess (without cheat codes) please give me a holler. Namely: -

(i) How to divert the mothership
(ii) If there is any practical way to stop the Scrin without the use of Liquid Tiberium explosives

I also got a free Granado Espada Beta Kit CD from attending the fair. I've always wanted to get back into playing MMORPG. It reminded me so much of my MUDding days. And I've tried numerous free MMORPGs like The Gate To Heavens, which apparently has closed down. And though I know that there are more established ones out there like Guildwars and World of Warcraft (this one which I definitely will be trying out), I just would like to try something different from the usual warrior, healer, damage dealer thing.

Granado Espada it will be then for now. Seems like they will be opening up Singapore servers on the 16th June, so I guess its the best time for it. If any of you folks out there are playing it or planning to give it a go, let me know. We could hook up and go on a killing rampage together...heh.

I'm heading off now, promised to attend my friend's wedding rites this evening. I'll probably post some pics up when I get back.

Ciao.

Of Bells & Good Tidings.....

I know I haven't updated my blog for some time now.... who would've figured that being a teacher (Special Ed or otherwise) would be so time consuming... I've got so much of social backlog I don't even know where to begin. And though I'm sure you'd like to hear more about what's been happening in my life (yeah...right), well I'm afraid I have other things I'd like to share with you all for now.

More precisely, a hearty congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Tan. Yep, I went to Don & Serene's wedding held at the St. Peter & Paul's Church last Saturday. Had to say it was an interesting affair, seeing as I haven't attended anything Catholic for 10 years now. Now though I'm not a Christian but I do have a good idea of the Catholic faith and also that of the Protestant faith. I know what the designation Father means. However, I have no clue as to what the OCD tag behind the respective Fathers' names meant. I just hope its not what I think it is. And trust me, my thoughts can be quite evil.

There were a lot of old faces and former colleagues from Renci Hospital as well as a rather prominent member of said chronic sick institution. Enough with the words....on with the pictures!

Uncle Fred and Miona

Uncle Fred and Geok Kah (I think that's how its spelled)

The whole Renci & former Renci gang (patient included)

The man of the hour and the man of previous hours

Ali, the official photographer for the day

Just some shots that I thought looked good

The Programme (I forgot to Macro-it)

Don't they look good together?

Introducing the Tans with ..errr... some old couple

They look good together, right? Right?

The last pic I took before we headed off

Wishing Don & Serene all the best for their future together. I guess you'll never walk alone now ey. Heh.
